Who is Emma Stapleton?
Emma Stapleton is a Chartered Surveyor and has an Urban Estate Management degree focused on general practice. “I was a partner for 12 years in a major London consultancy. I was then asked to go client side and worked for a family trust where I was in charge of investment acquisitions.” Emma has spent many years in Board-level positions within the industry before working with David which led to the creation of Copronet.
What does your role entail at Copronet?
My role is incredibly varied. Each day is different but I enjoy the constant learning. Probably my favourite part is continuing to develop and improve our SaaS (Software as a Service) platform. It’s not something I understood before starting Copronet and I had to learn very quickly how to problem solve in this environment.
What has been your journey here?
I had quite a journey before starting Copronet with my husband David. We worked together developing commercial property and over the years we became frustrated because of the difficulty in finding new team members to work with us. It appeared to us that there was a lack of transparency and collaboration across the construction industry and somehow, we needed to come up with a solution. We couldn’t find it, so we started to develop it through adopting technology.
What do you do outside of work?
As David mentioned in the previous blog, we have twins so we try and spend as much time as possible with them. We love the outdoors and sports as well as theater and art.
What’s your favourite building or structure?
I can’t choose between the London Eye and the Guggenheim Museum. I love the London Eye as it was built as a temporary structure and it soon became one of the most iconic structures in London. I love the Guggenheim Museum in New York because it’s just a perfect design for a museum and gallery. The design, the structure and the aesthetics suit the museum perfectly both internally and externally.
Finally, what is your favourite quote or mantra?
My favourite quote is by Albert Einstein.
“Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.”
This quote resonates with what we are trying to do here at Copronet. We utilise our imagination every day to make the software better, come up with new features as well as improve through customer feedback.
